Prudence Bell Fractalaic

The human mind is always subconsciously fascinated with complex and infinite patterns – fractals. Fractals surround us in nature, demonstrating the infiniteness of God. Original designed linoprints and expressionistic paintings have provided me an outlet for this fascination of my own – inspired by Indian henna designs. The meditative state that comes from creating fractal designs manifest in many forms of spiritual/religious art, allows me to express my subconscious and evolving spirituality. This highly abstract expressionistic yet intricate method of artmaking is highly therapeutic allowing one to become in tune with nature – the portal to the spiritual. As a result my artworks are about discovery, freedom and growth. They are not planned. They flow naturally in process, evolving as I work. The potent symbol of the lotus flower is both traditional in henna art and included appropriately to symbolise enlightenment, discovery, growth and transcendence.
