In a world driven by consumerism, I was inspired by my research into the life cycle of rubbish, noting the brash decisions made when throwing out objects, rather than thinking about the infinite possibilities of re-use. My body of work incorporates objects that have been disposed of, proving that they can continue the narrative of existence. I explored ideas of deconstruction and abstraction through photography, collagraph printing and relief sculpture, highlighting the beauty that still exists in objects that are labelled as ‘waste’, and how this beauty could be salvaged.
