Yebyul Park In front of the green wall

The smell of steamy homemade dumplings on a cold December eve, the traditional Korean games we would play on the warm wooden floor – these are memories from when I visited my grandfather’s house [in Korea]. The memories came flooding back as I painted this piece. I recalled the mellow green wallpaper in the background, as my grandfather told us one of his many stories about the old days. I smile fondly at these recollections, reminiscing about simpler times. I wanted to capture his sagacious spirit, his enlightened soul.
