Enter a space of creativity and play through this art-making project, in which you’ll collaborate with artist Rosie Deacon, who often uses ‘everyday junk’ to create sculptures and installation.

Rainbow Rock Mountain is a sculptural installation that grows over time.

You’re invited to take part in one of the workshops where you will create and decorate a type of rock, using so-called ‘junk’ such as foam from lounges and discarded craft supplies. While you make, discover new fun ways to repurpose everyday materials that are otherwise destined for landfill.

You can then add your individual rock to the mountain sculpture, which will become larger and more colourful with each contribution.

Drop into a workshop at any time. All materials and instructions provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

The workshop will be Auslan interpreted on 18 May and audio described on 25 May. There will be a sensory-friendly session on 19 May.

This event is part of the Art Gallery of New South Wales program Make it May
